How to Calculate Annual Salary

Annual Salary from Monthly Salary:

Annual Salary = Monthly Salary × 12 + Holiday Pay + Bonuses

Annual Salary from Hourly Wage:

Annual Salary = Hourly Wage × Weekly Hours × 52 ÷ 12 × (12 + Holiday Pay Months)

For example, with a monthly salary of 3,200 € including holiday pay, the annual salary is approximately 40,000 €.

Vacation Pay

Vacation pay is typically a percentage of monthly salary, often around 50%. It is usually paid in connection with summer vacation. Vacation pay may be statutory or based on employment agreements. If your agreement does not include vacation pay, select "No" in the calculator.

What Does Annual Salary Include?

Annual salary usually means gross salary for the whole year. It may include:

• 12 months' basic salary
• Holiday pay (usually 0.5 months)
• Performance bonuses and bonuses
• Benefits in kind (phone, car, housing benefits) are included in taxation

Overtime compensations are not usually included in annual salary because they vary monthly.
